Mark Slavin

Mark Slavin (born January 31, 1954 Minsk, USSR, died September 6, 1972, near Munich, West Germany) was an Israeli Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler and victim of the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was taken hostage with several other Israeli athletes. Mark Slavin died by machine gun fire when he was in a helicopter during a rescue attempt.

Before moving to Israel, Slavin won the Soviet Greco-Roman wrestling championship. He moved to Israel in May 1972 and he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv and the Israel Olympic Team.
