Mark Rivera

Mark Rivera is a multi-instrumentalist session musician.

Has played with Billy Joel, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel, Simon & Garfunkel, Ringo Starr, and Kurtis Blow.

As legend has it, Billy Joel auditioned Rivera for the saxophonist in his band in 1982, after Richie Cannata left to open a recording studio. Rivera played Joel the sax part in Just the Way You Are and was hired on the spot. Rivera has since played on An Innocent Man, Greatest Hits, Vols. 1, 2 & 3, The Bridge, КОНЦЕРТ, and 2000 Years: The Millennium Concert, and has appeared on every Billy Joel tour since 1982.

He also volunteers in his community, coaching recreational sports, as well as helping to found Sober Teens a teen awareness program in suburban New York.
