Mark Knowles OAM (born March 10, 1984 in Rockhampton, Queensland) is a field hockey defender from Australia, who was a member of the team that won the golden medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
He is nicknamed Knowlesy, and played club hockey for the Queensland Blades in his native country, with whom he won the national title in 2003. Eglington made his international debut in January 2004, in a match against South Korea during the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia. At just twenty, he was the youngest member of The Kookaburras Olympic Team in Greece. He broke his ankle in 2003, and was named Rookie of the Year 2002 in Queensland.
Knowles signed an agreement with Dutch club HC Rotterdam in the spring of 2006, to compete for them in the 2006-2007 season.
