Mark Hillier

Mark Hillier is a contemporary musician, based in Cornwall in Great Britain. He has been active in the genres of ambient music and electronica since 1991, utilizing electric keyboards, synthesizers, tape loops and sampling techniques. His music, under the pseudonym Ishq, has been released commercially on several compilation CDs, plus the solo CD Orchid (2001). He has played festivals in his native England. His work has been influenced by Eastern religions (Buddhism, Sufism, raja yoga), yielding an exceptionally mellow, melodic, and often serene musical result. Private, reclusive, and cryptic, he is reputedly working on a long-term project titled Harmonizing Electrified Forms, about which little is known. [1]
