Mark Hanis is the Founder & Executive Director of the Genocide Intervention Network (GI-Net), an organization created with the mission to empower citizens and communities with the tools to prevent and stop genocide. Mark graduated Swarthmore College in 2005 with a major in Political Science and a minor in Public Policy. He is the grandchild of four Holocaust survivors and was raised in Quito, Ecuador. From February - August 2004, Mark worked for the Office of the Prosecutor at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. He recently became a Draper Richards fellow [1] and an Echoing Green fellow [2].
