Mark Bacino
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mark Bacino is an American singer-songwriter.
Born and raised in New York, Bacino graduated from St. John's University. While attending college, Bacino played in various bands and formed a production partnership with a friend producing/recording local talent in their home-spun studio.
Eventually Bacino set out as a solo artist with three self-released efforts to his credit, the last of which, 1997's "Pop Job" EP, earned him a deal with American independent record label Parasol Records. In 1998 Parasol issued Bacino's debut, "Pop Job…the long player!", augmenting the original EP with 8 new power-pop tracks. In the years to follow Bacino found himself promoting the release with his live band, becoming a regular at downtown NYC clubs such as "The Living Room" and sharing bills with the likes of artists such as Norah Jones and David Poe.
2003 brought the US and Japanese release of Bacino's Beach Boys/Beatles informed sophomore effort, "The Million Dollar Milkshake" which married adventurous orchestrations to his retro, bubblegum pop sound. Bacino also hit the TV airwaves in 2003 to promote his new record via a comical commercial spot which faithfully mirrored country singer Slim Whitman’s infamous TV ad from the early 1980’s.
In 2004 a partnership with Joe D'Ambrosio Management spurred Bacino on to once again strike out as a producer. With the formation of "The Queens English", a new production company/studio, Bacino found himself collaborating with the likes of fellow producers Peter Zizzo (Avril Lavigne/Vanessa Carlton) and Mark Swersky (Hilary Duff).
As producer/composer/multi-instramentalist Bacino currently continues to write for TV/Film as well as for himself and other artists. He resides in New York with his wife and son.
