Marist High School is a private Catholic high school in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1901 by the Marist Brothers as a private, Catholic, military school. The original school building was on Ivy Street in Atlanta, and the current campus is located at 3790 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. The school became coeducational in 1976. [1]

Marist has traditionally been a premier athletic powerhouse in Georgia. It has won the AAAA Director's Cup for the best athletic program since its inception in 1997. The Marist athletes have recently won state championships in Boy's Soccer, Girl's Volleyball, Boy's and Girl's Cross Country, Football, Swimming, Baseball, and Track and Field. Marist now sponsors a boy's and girl's lacrosse team. In 2005, both teams made the state playoffs in their second season. Marist recently won the 2006 State AAAA Volleyball beating Starr's Mill High School. This marks their 5th straight state finals appearance and their second state championship. Currently 77% of males and 67% of females participate in athletics at Marist School.

As a college prepatory school Marist celebrates a rich and challenging academic enviorment. The average SAT score of Marist students is 1249. During 2004-2005, 318 students took 551 AP tests, with 91% achieving a grade of 3, 4, or 5. Student-faculty ratio is 10:1; average class size is 19. Every 2006 graduate of Marist School was admitted to college.
