  • Sound effects from Super Mario Bros. are commonly heard in scenes set at a video arcade.
  • The Fairly OddParents! - In the episode "Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary", the first portion of the fairy duel is that the godparents must save thier godchildren from a giant ape, who throws barrels at them on a girder.
  • The Simpsons
    • "Marge Be Not Proud" - When Bart contemplates stealing the video game he wants, Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong appear in his mind, convincing him to go ahead and steal it.
    • "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass" - When Homer's showboating turns him into an Internet meme, a group of Italian-American tourists show up in front of his house. Mario steps in front of him, asking to have his picture taken with Homer; Homer responds by throwing barrels at him Donkey Kong-style.
  • In an episode of Cartoon Network's "Class of 3000" a student must climb up girders to get to a gorilla Donkey Kong style.
  • In a Robot Chicken sketch entiled "3 Fast 3 Furious" Mario, Luigi, and Wario can be seen.
