Maria Taylor (b. 1976 in Birmingham, Alabama) is half of the duo called Azure Ray, with Orenda Fink, on Saddle Creek Records. She's also a member of Saddle Creek's Now It's Overhead. Currently, she is pursuing a solo career and has released one album 11:11 on Saddle Creek on May 24, 2005. She plays piano, guitar, drums, and sings. She has worked with Bright Eyes, Moby, Abra Moore, David Barbe, and Crooked Fingers.
One of her songs "Song Beneath the Song" has been featured on Grey's Anatomy and the song is on the soundtrack for the show. Her song "Christmas After All" was also featured on a episode.
She is currently rumoured to be dating Conor Oberst, a member of the Saddle Creek family most well-known for his work under the moniker Bright Eyes.
