Maria Rubia

Maria Rubia is a UK-born model, actress and singer who debuted as vocalist on the Fragma dance track Everytime You Need Me.

Born on 20th December in Norfolk in 1977, Maria moved with her family to southern France. She went to a French-speaking school where she had to quickly learn the language. The family returned to the UK when Maria was 13 to Swansea, Wales. She became a model and actress, appearing in adverts for Colgate and L’Oreal. Maria turned down a role in a Terry Gilliam film to continue her studies.

Maria's family soon moved again to Marbella, Spain. Maria continued her modelling and acting and began to build up music industry contacts. At the age of 21 she returned to Wales to study Media and Visual Culture at the University of Wales.

Maria is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish, with Italian, Scandinavian and Dutch to a basic level. She worked as a part-time language teacher while at university. She put her degree on hold for the Fragma single.

She co-wrote her debut solo single Say It, which was remixed by DJ Rob Searle.
