[edit] El Grupo Marfil
Marfil is a Cumbian music group.
Cumbian music is played mainly in Argentina, and is a dance music developed with elements of tango, samba and bossa nova, with a strong rhythm section.
Marfil toured Buenos Aires from around 1995 - 2003, stopping during the economic depression, and soon to begin again!
The group was a six piece setup:
Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Keyboard, Drums, Percussion, Vocals.
Having found small fame through their regular tours around the clubs and night scene of Buenos Aires, they had a popular track "Dame Mas" (Give Me More) released on a taster CD compiled by 'Vaiven Records', and later, due to popular demand a CD released, under the same name as the song, also on 'Vaiven Records' including hits such as "Mujer De Verdad" (True Lady) and "Este Sabado" (This Saturday).
Note:- Marfil is also 'Ivory', in Spanish.
