Marcus Ragnarsson (born August 13, 1971 in Ostervala, Sweden) is a professional ice hockey defenseman. He is 6'1" tall, 215 lbs in weight and shoots left. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round, 99th overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He was a defenseman who enjoyed tremendous success paired alongside Mike Rathje in San Jose. During a disastrous 2003 season for San Jose, Ragnarsson was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for Dan McGillis. During the NHL lockout, Ragnarsson retired from the NHL, and decided he would only play in Sweden.
Although an extremely good defensive defenseman, he never matched the offensive success of his 39-point rookie season.
He played in the 2001 All-star game.
