Marcos Daniel

Marcos Diniz Daniel (born on July 4, 1978 in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul) is a professional tennis player from Brazil who turned professional in 1997.
Marcos Daniel's brother owns an academy for developing young tennis players, called Daniel Tennis Center where Marcos Daniel used to work as a ball catcher there before playing youth tournaments. When he was 12, representing this academy, he reached his first final but he didn't succeed in winning the title[1].
He has never won any ATP official tournament and his best result so far was when he reached the quarterfinals of the Acapulco tournament in 2006. Despite his lack of titles, he is, as of March 2006, the highest placed Brazilian player[2][3].
He has, however, won several ITF doubles tournaments such as the Manta Challenger in 2004 partnering Santiago González from Mexico, the 2004 Brazil F4 Futures partnering fellow Brazilian Alexandre Simoni, the 2005 Bogota Challenger partnering Santiago González, the 2005 Seville Challenger partnering Fernando Vicente from Spain and the 2005 Bogota 3 Challenger partnering Santiago González.
He has also won a few ITF singles tournaments like the 2004 Brazil F4 Futures, the 2004 Brazil F5 Futures, the 2004 Brazil F6 Futures, the 2005 Bogota 2 Challenger, the 2005 Bogota 3 Challenger and the Guayaquil Challenger in 2005.
He reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on June 19, 2006, when he became the World No. 80.
