Marcie Walsh McBain is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live. The role was originated in 2002 by Kathy Brier.
Marcie arrived in the fictional Philadelphia suburb of Llanview in 2002 to attend Llanview University, and took a job as receptionist at the Llanview Hospital. It was at the hospital where she met fellow university student Jennifer Rappaport, daughter of Lindsay Rappaport, who soon became her best friend. Around the time she met Jennifer, she met Al Holden, a fellow Llanview University. As Marcie and Al became friends, she soon discovered his drug habit. With her help, Al gave up drugs and the two developed a relationship.
Al was diagnosed with a terminal disease in 2003, and he died soon later. Marcie, convinced she would never love again, then met Michael McBain (played by the same actor who portrayed Al). Michael helped Marcie through her pain, and soon the too fell in love and developed a relationship.
The relationship had it's ups and downs, with Michael's work as a doctor, and her newfound fame as an author, recently though, they finally married. Recently, Michael and Marcie adopted a little boy named Tommy, and are also dealing with the death of Michael's brother, John.
