Marcel Gagnon

Marcel Gagnon (born April 19, 1936 in Sainte-Brigide-d'Iberville, Quebec) is a former Canadian politician. A businessman, he served in the National Assembly of Quebec as a member of the Parti Québécois from 1976 to 1985. He entered federal politics when he was elected as a member of the Bloc Québécois in the Canadian federal election, 2000. In the Canadian House of Commons, he represented the riding of Champlain (2000-2004) and Saint-Maurice—Champlain (2004-present). He served as the Bloc critic to Seniors, and has in the past been a critic to the Library of Parliament, the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, and the Guaranteed Minimum Income Supplement. He retired from office at the dissolution of parliament for the 2006 federal election.
