The Greek Maratos Brothers built a motorcycle of their own development in Thessaloniki in the 1920s, thus credited with what seems to be the first "real" Greek motorcycle. It is not known whether there was any intent of producing the motorcycle, but the Brothers (expert motorcycle engineers), among other similar activities, were involved since 1945 in a more "industrial" process, transforming existing motorcycles into light trucks utilizing automobile parts (producing a type of vehicle then popular in Greece).
