Mara is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 140 km northwest of Cagliari and about 35 km south of Sassari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 758 and an area of 18.9 km2.[1]
Mara borders the following municipalities: Cossoine, Padria, Pozzomaggiore.
