Marc Andrew "Pete" Mitscher, (26 January 1887 - 3 February 1947) nn board his flagship, USS Lexington (CV-16), at the time of the Marianas campaign, June 1944.

Deutsch: Die USS Lexington (CV-2) und ihr Schwesterschiff, die USS Saratoga (CV-3) waren die ersten beiden Flugzeugträger der US-Navy, die zwar zuerst als Schlachtkreuzer geplant und auf Kiel gelegt, aber nach einer Entscheidung vom 1. Juli 1922 dann als Flugzeugträger gebaut wurden.
