Maple Village

Maple Village is a roleplaying village loosely based on the Harvest Moon series. It runs off of invisionfree, using php code. It was created by Mayor Danny on November 16th, 2004 with a staff consisting of about 4 members including Sheriff Ian, FelicaLittle, Nick, and reader340. Since then it has grown substantially, but still trying to maintain a small town feel.

[edit] Basic Information
Maple Village has 4 seasons, each with a corresponding skin. In each season are 3 to 4 festivals. Additionally, semi-annual plots are created to increase member activity. Roleplaying tournaments may be introduced from time to time, in addition to other, more random games such as Werewolf, to keep interest high.
The area around Maple Village is referred to as the Wilderness and includes (but is not limited to): Fog Beach, Enchanted Forest, Luna Mountain, Castlewiner Vineyard and Serenity Swamp. Several hidden lands, accessible to only elite members are also to be found once they reach a certain rank.
Maple Village itself is made up of the Town Hall, Market Square, Grand Library, and Elm Road. Outside of the village is the small town of Oak Ridge. A less popular feature of the town are its farms. The graveyard serves as the archive for the village, and contains the old and closed files.

Ranks mark a certain villagers status in the village. These ranks are not the actual occupations of the villagers, just a sign of their prestige. The ranks are as follows:
- Traveler - All new members start out as Travelers.
- Shopkeeper - Members with 5 or more posts become Shopkeepers.
- Florists
- Baker
- Fisherman
- Carpenter
- Farmer
- Blacksmith
- Politician
- Artist - Artists are chosen by auditions.
- Village Council - Council is chosen by applications.
- Mayor - The highest rank, given to the most active council.

Being one of the few successful Harvest Moon invisionfree forums, Maple Village spawned a variety of rip-off villages, none very successful.
The site, although having its own topsite and website, revolves around the forums. There are 3 general chat areas that are not roleplay-orientated as well as a hub for new members and announcements. Affiliates are usually staff sites, or other Harvest Moon forums or websites.
The population of the village is, as of May 20th 2006, 1,125; although a bulk of the members are inactive. It is estimated that there are 50 or so active members at any one week.
