Talk:Manuc's Inn

A review of the restaurant (*grin*): Bogdan | Talk 21:54, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Swim naked through raw, radioactive sewage before you venture a foot into this offence to restaurants. Atrocious food, even worse service and an almost 100 per cent guarantee that you will need to haggle over the appearance of things you did not order on the bill. Not even the historic building makes a meal here worthwhile. Dire, dire, dire, dire, dire. -- In Your Pocket guide
- It's not actually that dire, although I wouldn't recommend it. If you are dragged there, stick to the ciorba, which is harmless, if not exciting. And make sure that at least one of the party speaks decent Romanian because, yes, you are likely to be overbilled. Also, the pastries at the smaller place facing Unirii are perfectly OK (though nothing to write home about) but the pizza there, I'm told, is as miserable as the food in the main restaurant. Oh, and I do not recommend it as a place to stay: I've never stayed there, but while I was living in Bucharest I tried to book a room for a friend's father who thought it would be worth trying, and the hotel staff were so miserable to deal with that I advised him to stay elsewhere. Still, in warm weather, in the courtyard, beer is beer, and there is often good music to be heard. We can all just hope for the day the place is under better management. Of course, the price of rooms will double. -- Jmabel | Talk 23:55, Jan 30, 2005 (UTC)

There is a better article forming in the Romanian Wikipedia. Anyone feel like translating? - Jmabel | Talk 05:15, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
