[edit] Perspective
As I continue to explore the pages associated with this project, and ruminate on arguments I have already made, I keep coming back to a question of perspective on Cause vs. Effect. The list of disasters on this page are all about Effect - the loss that results from a disaster (many are also not disasters as defined by Emergency Management principles). However the title "man-made" itself references the cause. This, I believe, is the central conflict which plagues the thorough categorization of disasters.
I think this page would be more useful if its title were changed to make it less contradictory to the social custom of viewing disasters by the type of loss. I invite discussion on the subject while I research a better hierarchy. Parradoxx 21:27, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
