[edit] MOTU minicomics

In the minicomics, Mantenna was the less featured of the four original Horde warriors (Hordak, Grizzlor, Leech and himself), since his only power were his pop-out eyes, useful for reconnaissance, but not to make him a menace for 13 pages.

[edit] She-Ra TV series

When the Horde appeared in the She-Ra series, Mantenna retained his "spy sight" from the minicomics, plus a new power: a stun wave that he could send from his eyes. Mantenna was a nervous stuttering imbecile mainly used for comic relief, with a running gag that Hordak would frequently send him down a trap door in front of his throne for any number of reasons. Although, once or twice Mantenna would actually turn the tables on Hordak and send him plummeting down his own trap!

[edit] 2002 MOTU series

Mantenna and the other original Horde warriors were featured in a flashback in the episode "The Power of Grayskull". While not featured heavily, his appearance was far more serious and evil looking than it had been in She-Ra. A mini-statue of Mantenna has recently been released by the Four Horsemen, based on their unreleased toy design.

[edit] Trivia

Although Mantenna had four legs, the action figure has the legs molded together in twos, making it possible to seem at casual glance that he only has two legs.
