Manteca (band)

Manteca is the name of at least two different bands, both named after a Dizzy Gillespie composition.
- A Canadian jazz fusion band by this name was formed by percussionist Matt Zimbel and bassist Henry Heillig in 1979. Other members of the band have included Aaron Davis, John Johnson, Gordon Sheard, Wayne Baker, Herb Koffman, Rick Tait, Steve McDaid, Kirk MacDonald, Ralph Bowen, Gary Bogon, Phil Dwyer, Earl Leader, Norman Jones, Art Avalos, Mike Sloski, David James and Charlie Cooley.
- There is also a Nu-Latin band called Manteca based in London (UK).
