Mansfield is a city located in Johnson County, Tarrant County, and Ellis County Texas (USA). According to the 2006 census estimate, the city has a population of 49,000. Rapid growth has occurred mainly due to the city's proximity to nearby Joe Pool Lake.

Two-time Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson lives in Mansfield. [1]

Mansfield is located at 32°34′38″N, 97°7′36″W (32.577087, -97.126699)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 94.6 km² (36.5 mi²). 94.5 km² (36.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (0.11%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 28,031 people, 8,881 households, and 7,646 families residing in the city. The population density was 296.7/km² (768.5/mi²). There were 9,172 housing units at an average density of 97.1/km² (251.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 86.41% White, 4.40% African American, 0.57% Native American, 1.23% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 5.67% from other races, and 1.71% from two or more races. 12.75% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 8,881 households out of which 50.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.5% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.9% were non-families. 10.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.08 and the average family size was 3.32.

In the city the population was spread out with 31.8% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 34.6% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 5.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.1 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $66,764, and the median income for a family was $71,700. Males had a median income of $50,084 versus $30,796 for females. The per capita income for the city was $26,446. About 2.7% of families and 4.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.4% of those under age 18 and 5.4% of those age 65 or over.

The Tarrant County portion of Mansfield is served by the Mansfield Independent School District.

Most of the Johnson County portion is served by the Mansfield Independent School District.

With the remainder being served by Midlothian Independent School District.
