Manpons

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MANPONS is an acronym that stands for Manufacturer Purchase Order Numbers. They are often used in Data Warehouse repositories to identify a factory-to-factory transactional record. They are similar to a regular Purchase Order in most ways, but differ in that they are used by internal systems and are usually not exposed to the external customer.

There is usually a one-to-many relationship between customer purchase orders and MANPONS. This is necessary in order to communicate production information to the external customer.

[edit] Additional Uses

MANPONS are especially useful when it is necessary to separate line items on a customer purchase order into its individual line-item requests where these items are to be manufactured in different factories.
