Manor College, a Catholic, co-ed, private college, was founded in 1947 by the Byzantine Ukrainian Sisters of Saint Basil the Great. It is located in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia.
In 1959, Manor College was chartered and incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The college was approved by the State Council of Education Department of Instruction on June 17, 1964.
The legal governing body of Manor College is the Board of Trustees, which is composed of twenty-one members, including lay men and women from the business and professional communities and religious Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great.
Manor College is related to the Ukrainian Catholic Church. Many Ukrainian immigrants looking for higher education in America attend Manor College as a method of easing their transition into American culture. Ukrainian immigrants comprise approximately fifteen percent of the student population.

[edit] Catholic education
The primary purpose of Manor College is to provide its students with an education that is based upon the Judeo-Christian tradition. Manor's mission statement believes that the ideals and values of this tradition are an integral part of human existence and give purpose and meaning to education.
Despite being a Catholic college, students are not required to attend mass or have open prayers during classes. All matriculated students are, however, required to take one religion elective as part of the core course work. Most students select one of the following available courses: Comparative Religions in America, Introduction to the World Religions, Fundamentals of Catholic Theology, Religion and the Human Experience, Contemporary Religious Values, and Marriage and Family.
[edit] Programs
Manor College prepares its students, through the first two years of college, with the choice to transfer to a 4-year institution or become gainfully employed through its many vocationally oriented programs such as paralegal, dental hygiene, veterinary technology, and early child care.
[edit] Sports
The intercollegiate program at Manor College offers a variety of competitive programs for both men and women. The teams are known as the "Blue Jays". Former team members like ex-captain Arthur Seabra is greatly remembered for his spectacular achievements throughout his time at Manor. Under the professional leadership of current Asst. Coach John Dempster; who in his college years also attended Manor setting and still holding various records as a Goalkeeper, the Manor College Blue Jays went undefeated during their regular season in 2005. They reached the State Championships only to tie in double-overtime and loose in a sudden death penalty shoothout. Led by Rick Bates (Lincoln High School 04' and scholar athlete) and Scott Ehly (North Catholic graduate and All time leader in wins as a goalkeeper) the soccer team then returned in 2006 to post a record of 15-0-1 during the regular season. Also going on to winning the State Championship and Regional Championship. Something Arthur Seabra has never accomplished in his soccer career. Manor is a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC). The men's and women's program features soccer and basketball.
