Manohla Dargis

Manohla Dargis is one of the chief film critics for The New York Times. She was formerly a film critic for the Los Angeles Times, a film editor for the LA Weekly and has written for a variety of publications including Film Comment and Sight and Sound.

Ms. Dargis grew up in Manhattan's East Village, and is a graduate of Hunter College High School (1979).

Following her negative review of the first Garfield movie, the second movie, Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties, has the main villain named Lord Dargis.
