Manitoba Lotteries Corporation

The Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC) is a Crown Corporation operates and manages two casino properties; McPhillips Street Station Casino and Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg, Manitoba. MLC also operates video lottery terminals (VLT) and is responsible for the distribution of all lottery products to a network of lottery retailers, in the province of Manitoba.
The first lottery in Manitoba started in 1970 through special legislation. By 1993, the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation was established as a Crown Corporation. $273 million was given to the Province of Manitoba in 2004-05 This income goes back to the community in a number of ways $49.5 million in VLT revenues was donated in the form of unconditional grants to Manitoba municipalities (10%) The remainder of the net income is given to the Government of Manitoba that provide health care, education, community and social services and economic development for Manitobans.
Today, the MLC employs just under 1,700 people. It has its headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
