Manindra Agrawal

Manindra Agrawal (मणीन्द्र अग्रवाल) (born 20 May 1966 in Allahabad) is a Professor and Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He obtained a B.Tech and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. His advisor was Dr. Somenath Biswas.
He co-created the AKS primality test with Neeraj Kayal and Nitin Saxena, and won the 2002 Clay Research Award, the 2006 Fulkerson Prize and the 2006 Gödel Prize (along with his co-authors). This is the first deterministic algorithm to test an n-digit number for primality in a time that is polynomial in n.
