Manheim Township High School is one of the very well known high schools located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The school has grown fame for its football team, which has two winning seasons since 1988, and Quiz Bowl team, which won a national championship in 2000. The school's star quarterback, Pat Bostick, has sparked all kinds of attention when he made a verbal agreement to the University of Pittsburgh. He is ranked number three in quarterbacks by Scout.com. The school's performing arts group is also locally praised for its high quality productions. The high school soccer team earned the State runner-up title in 2006 for class AAA. The soccer team has been ranked as high as 7th in the nation. They had an overall season of 28-1. Their only loss was the state championship game, and only 5 goals were scored on the team all year.

The school has a history of being one of the more expensive schools in the area, but has lived up to it, ranking high in state exams. The school was orignally built in the 1950's with an addition in 1978.

In 2006 a controversial construction project commenced, extending the newer air-conditioned 1978 side of the building. The project includes a new classroom wing, new gymnasium, fields between the new classroom wing and gymnasium, a new data room, industrial art shops, a cafeteria addition and renovation, the demolition of the wrestling and industrial art shops, a renovation of the majority of the 1978 building, library, and the fields near Oregon Road, an auditorium, the demolition and removal of the 1950s building, construction of a connecting link to replace the 1950s building, technology education and 2 existing gyms, and demolition of existing electric room, pool and locker rooms, shuffleboard hall, convocation hall, nursing and guidance areas, music and stage support, partial tennis court demolition and modification, and Oregon and Valley Road improvements to occur during the summer months while school is in recess.
