Manheim Auctions, established 1945, is the world's leading provider of used vehicle services and a marketplace for the millions of cars that change hands every year. It is a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises. They have more than 35,000 employees at its 139 car dealer auctions and related worldwide businesses. Manheim's corporate offices are in Atlanta, Georgia.

[edit] History

Manheim began operations in 1945, in Manheim, Pennsylvania. By 1959 it became the largest auto auction in the world. It began to expand its locations in the 1965 with the purchase of the National Auto Dealers Exchange located in Camden, New Jersey and two years later Fredericksburg Auto Auction of Fredericksburg, Virginia. In 1968, Cox Enterprises saw the potential behind auto auctions and purchased Manheim, relocating the headquarters from Pennsylvania to Atlanta, Georgia.
