Manganotantalite (MnTa2O6) is the Manganese (Mn) pure member of the Columbite-Tantalite serie. It is a black or brown mineral, opaque to translucid, specific gravity 8,1 and important tantalum ore. It is analogous to ferrotantalite the iron member of the serie.

Alto do Giz, a locality at Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, has pegmatites with beautiful and big crystals.
