[edit] Day 1
Mandy appears in the first three episodes of the first season as part of the group hired by Victor Drazen to assassinate presidential candidate David Palmer. She pretends to be attracted to Martin Belkin, the photographer seated next to her on her flight to Los Angeles. She steals his wallet, knowing that he is supposed to have breakfast with Senator Palmer the next day. Mandy plants a bomb on the plane which detonates after she jumps out of the plane with a parachute.
After parachuting out of the exploding plane, Mandy buries Martin's identification in a homing device under the sand of the Mojave Desert. She is taken to the hideout of Ira Gaines, the leader of Drazen's hit squad. Mandy calls her accomplice / girlfriend, Bridgit, to bring her the ID when she is sure Gaines has payment. But Bridgit has plans of her own, and keeps the ID hidden.
Gaines demands that Mandy handle Bridgit's demands for more money. Mandy argues with Bridgit, but Bridgit will not budge. Mandy relents, and agrees to demand the extra million from Gaines. Gaines, however, has Bridgit killed after the ID card is turned over. Mandy is not seen for the rest of the season.
[edit] Day 2
Mandy returned for a cameo appearance in the last episode of the second season, when she attempted to assassinate President Palmer by slipping a toxin onto his hand, causing him to collapse in front of his motorcade. We find out in season three that he survived this attempt on his life.
[edit] 24: The Game
Mandy makes a very brief appearance in the game during a meeting between Max and California Governor James Radford. Radford got cold feet and attempted to walk out. Mandy prevented Radford from getting the opportunity to do so by slashing him across the throat. The deed was witnessed by Tony Almeida.
[edit] Day 4
Mandy returned for the last three episodes of the show's fourth season. She is now working with Habib Marwan, the main villain of the season. She and her boyfriend Gary helped plan the kidnapping of Secretary of Defense James Heller and his daughter Audrey Raines which occurred at the beginning of the season. They picked up Heller's son Richard in a bar. Richard took them home and had sex with Gary. In the meantime, Mandy used Richard's cell phone to call Marwan. The phone call from Richard’s cell to Marwan activated a listen-in so that the terrorists could hear all of Richard’s calls, enabling them to learn that Heller was going to call his son.
While Mandy and Gary are having sex at their apartment complex, she hears helicopters oustide. She realizes that they've been discovered by the Counter-Terrorist Unit. She kills Gary and climbs up to the rooftop. To get some leverage, she kills a present agent, and takes Tony Almeida hostage. She binds and gags Tony in a vacant apartment. Mandy then researches Tony’s background on a laptop and sees a story on the web about his dismissal from CTU and his connection to Michelle.
Mandy calls Michelle, threatening to kill Tony if a route is not provided for her escape (as the CTU is blocking all exits). Michelle discusses this with her team, and decides to simply hide her men from view. At this stage, Mandy slips into her friends' room, where she kills one of them and forces the other two to be her scapegoat. The friends sneak out to her car, where the CTU team makes a move towards the vehicle. Mandy, watching from her apartment, detonates a bomb within the car, successfully tricking CTU into believing that she and Tony were dead. She then attempted to escape, when Jack discovered the trickery and stopped her.
Due to her supposed knowledge of the whereabouts of Habib Marwan the nuclear warhead CTU was chasing, Mandy negotiated a deal, which granted her amnesty. The cabinet members were reluctant to agree upon discovering that she was responsible for then-President Palmer's assassination attempt, but the deal continued anyway.
After these events, Mandy presumably disappeared. She is known to be alive, and most likely still at large.
[edit] Trivia
- Mandy is, by far, the longest-surviving 24 antagonist.
- The character Mandy has the two longest "disappearances" for a character on the show, 24.
- Her longest break is from episode 2.24 (the finale of Season 2) to episode 4.22 (twenty-second hour of season 4), marking a total of 45 hours of absence.
- Her second longest occurs between her appearances in 1.3 (the third hour of the first season) to 2.24 (Season 2's finale), marking a total of 44 hours of absence.
- However, when Day 6 begins, both her records will be shattered as Milo Pressman will make a return to 24 (after 105 episodes in the dark) as a Series Regular. [1]
- It's unclear whether Mandy is her real name or an alias. She gave the name in the first episode while talking to Martin Belkin (who was killed shortly thereafter). Max also referred to her as Mandy during her brief appearance in the 24 Game. During her more lengthy appearance in Season 4, however, the writers apparently went out of their way to avoid having CTU or White House characters refer to her by any name. She has never been given a last name. One common fan nickname for the character is "Naked Mandy" due to her frequent scenes half-undressed.
- Mandy was the first villain to appear on screen and was the cause of the show's first major plot twist.
- Mandy was going to make an appearance in Season 5 but the idea was scrapped and her character was replaced by the character "Collette Stenger" played by Stana Katic.
- It was once rumored that Mandy was going to be revealed as Nina Myers' sister. Whether this was created by the fans or just an idea scrapped by the writers is unknown.
