Mandera District

Mandera District is an administrative district in the North Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital town is Mandera. The district has a population of 250,372 (1999 census) and an area of 26,744 kmĀ² [1].

The district has two local authorities: Mandera town council and Mandera county council.

Mandera District is divided into eighteen administrative divisions: Central (Mandera), Khalalio, Hareri, Libehia, Fino, Lafey, Rhamu, Rahamu Dimtu, Ashabito, Banisa, Malkamari, Takaba, Dandu, El Wak, Shimbir Fatuma, Wargadud, Warankara and Kotulo.

The district has three constituencies: Mandera Central, Mandera West and Mandera East.
