Mandasa
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mandasa is a village in the southeast Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The 20,000 inhabitants mostly cultivate paddy fields.
This town is near the highest peak of Eastern Ghats, Mahendragiri, from which a scenic view of the Bay of Bengal can be observed. Mahendragiri is known for its unique, ancient temples. They are the only temples in India for "Pancha pandavas" (see Mahabharat).
The temples are visited by large groups of people each year on Maha Shivratri day.
