Manchaca, Texas

Manchaca (pronounced [ˈmæntʃæk]) is a small unincorporated community 10 miles (16 km) southwest of downtown Austin, in Texas, United States, named after José Antonio Menchaca. At Manchaca's heart is Menchaca Elementary school, many privately owned businesses, and the Manchaca Firehall. The firehall is a popular local restaurant and meeting place and is also home to the Manchaca Volunteer Fire Department.
