Malfunction Junction is a webcomic written and illustrated by Matt Milby of Columbus, Ohio, which premiered in August of 2005. The comic shares its name with a 20th century American comic written by Malcolm Hancock.

Malfunction Junction takes place in Columbus, Ohio which is also the home of the author. As it is a journal webcomic, the location rarely differs from this region.

- Matt
- The artist/author of the comic. Matt works at a gas station and owns a car.
- Brett
- One of Matt's roommates. He is simultaneously his best friend and nemesis. A shorter man, he is "pretty fierce for a little fella". Brett is a member of the National Guard and a nonpracticing pagan.
- Brian
- The responsible, gay roommate. Does most of the dishes and general housekeeping for the group. Has been labelled the "Leonardo" of the group in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles terms.
- Corey
- Another roommate, Corey has three interests: video games, Jesus, and the Ladies. He is the most outgoing of the group.
- Al
- The final roommate. He is extremely laid-back and can shotgun a beer in less than 3 seconds.
- Dan
- Matt's manager at the Gas-Mart gas station. He is very cool and makes the work experience much more satisfying for the station's employees. He turns into a raging beast however, when people shoplift from the store.
