Malfeas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Malfeas is a realm of the Umbra in the fictional World of Darkness setting of roleplaying games, novels, comics and video games created by White Wolf Game Studio.
Malfeas is the imprisoning realm of an entity known as the Wyrm, once the natural embodiment of decay--one of the three primal drives of the universe (the other two being the Weaver(Stasis), and the Wyld (Creation)). Due to a cosmological imbalance, the Weaver ran rampant and the world ceased to be a dynamic, magical place of fantasy and became a fallen, gray "world of darkness" (for more information on the earlier, magical ages of the world, see the Exalted setting). The Wyrm became bound in the web of pattern, kept from destroying and allowing room for new growth--and madness and corruption consumed him. The cosmos around him putrified and became the tortured realm of Malfeas.
The spirits of that realm became corruptive and mad as well. Known as bane spirits they seek to taint and subvert others, even to the point of possessing and mutating their bodies to further the now twisted process of decay and corruption--becoming creatures known as fomari.
Before the end of the World of Darkness (during the Time of Judgement) the main opponents of the Wyrm were the Garou(Werewolves) however just about all sane beings were opposed to its ideology inasmuch as they understood it and had the power to confront it.
