Malem Jan Sobari

Malem Jan Sobari is an Afghan military leader who American intelligence analysts allege was allied to the Taliban.[1] American intelligence analysts allege that Malem Jan Sobari was a leader in the Union of Mujahadin.

During his Combatant Status Review Tribunal Guantanamo detainee Swar Khan was alleged to have sworn loyalty to Malem Jan Sobari and the Union of Mujahadin.[1] Swar Khan denied that Malem Jan Sobari was tied to the Taliban. He said that Malem Jan Sobari was a trusted leader for Hamid Karzai's government.
