Malcolm Tann

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malcolm Earl Tann, born August 20, 1978 in Seaboard, NC, is an American boxer and was once a highly touted prospect in the heavyweight division.

Known as "The Showstopper", Tann turned pro in 2002 after becoming the 2002 National Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champion. Due to his imposing size and skill, many thought he'd be a future champion, but his career hasn't been a success as of yet. Tann won his first eight bouts, including a win over journeyman Clifford Couser in 2003, but was dropped and shockingly decisioned by unheralded Willie Chapman that same year. In 2004 he beat Jason Gavern and in 2005 beat Derek Bryant, but later in the year had another shocking defeat, to Domonic Jenkins via decision.
