Malcolm Green (musician)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malcolm Green is an English-born drummer who played with Split Enz from 1977 to 1981.

Green was recruited by Split Enz in Britain, where he had formerly played with Love Affair, The Honeycombs -- both of them long after their run of '60s hits -- and Octopus. He was joined in Split Enz by Octopus bassist Nigel Griggs, who replaced Mike Chunn.

Green was sacked from Enz after disagreements with frontman Tim Finn over the rejection of his song writing contributions, but in 2005 accepted an invitation to play with the band at its induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in Australia. In 2006 he rejoined Enz for its Australian and New Zealand comeback tour, sharing drumming and percussion duties with Noel Crombie.

He now lives in Sydney where he produces music at his own studio. He also drums for and acts as a mentor to Sydney band Gethsemane.
