I'm an administrator and editor here on the English Wikipedia. I majored in music performance at school, specifically in voice and early music, so I spend most of my time editing in those areas on Wikipedia. Attending music school can give even the best intentioned musicians a POV. If you see me being particularly conservatory POV, let me know gently, and I'll do my best to fix it. Besides singing, I've also played the recorder, the viol, and the harpsichord. I can even play a bit of continuo on the harpsichord, which I think is pretty cool. In my studies to be a singer, I had to take a lot of language classes, so I've studied 4 years of Latin, even though I feel like I don't know any, 4 years of French, which I can muddle by with in combination with the Latin and a large vocabulary, and a little bit of German and Italian, where I feel very proud if I can understand three consecutive words.

Some articles I've created which I think are particularly interesting (for the rest see /Articles):

I sometimes have trouble thinking of what to write next, so if you have an idea you think I'd be able to do something with, please let me know. I am thinking of attempting articles on:

  • Ostinato needs some work, along with Ground bass, which is currently a redirect (maybe should be at Ground (music)?
  • Mrs Ayliff, English soprano, Purcell wrote for her.
  • Giovanni Battista Aleotti 16th century Italian worked in the theatre, wrote some treatises.
  • And a bunch of operas by Marc-Antoine Charpentier: Actéon, Andromède, Circé, David et Jonathas, Le malade imaginaire
  • Expand Ermengarde of Narbonne 12th century patron of troubadours.
  • Falsetto needs some serious work.

You can check out whatever I'm working on now at User:Makemi/Workspace2. If I've accidentally included a category on that page, or anything else annoying, feel free to fix it. You can also feel free to make useful edits on this page, since this is a wiki, y'know. If you're curious about my administrative actions, here they are: Makemi (talkcontribsblocksprotectsdeletionsmoves) also Edit count (use sparingly).

I also have accounts on Commons, Wiktionary and Meta, as well as a number of interlanguage projects; however, I do the vast majority of my edits on en:Wikipedia.
