[edit] In popular culture
- Cass' version of the song is prominently featured in two episodes of the television series Lost, "Man of Science, Man of Faith" and "Adrift". A faint sitar version can also be heard at the end of Live Together, Die Alone.[1]
At the beginning of "Man of Science, Man of Faith", Desmond plays the song on a turntable in Station Three as part of his morning ritual. Later, in events depicted in both episodes, Desmond plays the song to distract Jack as he enters the station and this song seems to more fast paced than the original song and when it plays in the computer room, the lyrics skip from; "the hardest thing to do" at the end of this lyric the lyrics skip to the last chorus lines.
- As of February 2006, a Snickers commercial airing in the United States featured Sherman's version.
- Cass' version also appears in the play and film Beautiful Thing, alongside many more of her recordings.
