Majida Rizvi

Justice (R) Majida Rizvi has the unique honour of being the first woman judge of a High Court in Pakistan being the judge of the Sindh High Court. She also served National Commission on the Status of Women as Chairperson.
She practiced in the High Courts and Supreme Court of Pakistan and is teaching Law in Hamdard University, Karachi. She is a writer and for years she contributed Articles on legal issues pertaining to Women and Children creating awareness among women as to their rights. Thus a constant campaigner of Women's right and gender equality. She has represented Pakistan and other various organizations at National & International conferences. She worked untiringly for the settlement of Biharis after the fall of Dacca and is associated with various organizations for the removal of all discrimination against women & supporting human rights. She has received many National & International Awards. She retired as Judge of the High Court of Sindh and worked at the National Commission on the Status of Women as the Chairperson.
