Majid Derakhshani

Majid Derakhshani (Born 1956 in Semnan) is a Persian composer, teacher, and Tar and Setar instrumentalist and improvisor.

The Iranian Tar and Setar virtuoso, Majid Derakhshani, is the founder of "Nawa Musikzentrum" in Cologne; the primary and most active center for Persian music outside of Iran. Derakhshani's mentor was the legendary Mohammad Reza Lotfi.
