[edit] Undeletion request
Thank you for your quick reply to my undeletion request re Jason Hunt. However, when I went to the Deletion Review page I couldn't understand how to post there. I find this whole deletion/undeletion process so confusing! Could you please send me a clarification?
Thank you for your time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.98.247.157 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Proposed AfD notice
Hi, I am contacting you since you are an admin who is typically (moderately? heavily?) involved in AfD. I have drafted a notice that I propose we add right at the top of the AfD page. I hope to start some discussion about it. Clearly, with the number of "re-listings" and listings that never should have been there to begin with, we need to take steps to educate editors about their other options. Would you please review and comment, if time allows? Thanks, --Aguerriero (talk) 20:43, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I love the new templates. Do you think these are a reasonable replacement for what I have proposed, or do you want to use them in addition to my notice? I hesitate to create more work for closing admins - my partial goal was to lessen the work load! :) --Aguerriero (talk) 13:22, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, last Sunday there were 167 AfD listings; this Sunday there were 129. Statistical glitch, or is the template working? --Aguerriero (talk) 00:07, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] California State Normal School article
Why was this article redirected to the SJSU article again? Who did it, and under what authority? The advocates of its deletion have also established another article under one of the school's former names: Minns Evening normal School, and yet that article remains? Why the double standard? [edit] my RfA
Thanks for your opinions in my RfA. Ultimately, the request did not pass, with a vote of (43/16/7). But your honest opinion was appreciated and I'll just keep right on doing what I do. Maybe I'll see ya around -- I'll be here!

[edit] Shopping mall list closes by you
Hi... Given that there were previous AfDs on some of these, and on the overall list too, and that they closed no con or even keep, I don't think that "Tip to nominator : Consider using the proposed deletion process for uncontroversial deletions, such as this one. Thanks! - Mailer Diablo 03:00, 28 July 2006 (UTC)" really applied in this case and... would actually rather not have seen it. That tip is rather condescending the way it reads, I'm afraid. Thanks for the closes, though. Grease up, the rest of the states are going to close soon too. :) They're in batches though instead of one at a time. ++Lar: t/c 18:54, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My RfA
Thanks for your support opinion on my RfA. With a final vote of (62/0/1), my RfA passed, and I am now an Administrator. I will work hard to ensure that the tools entrusted to me will not be abused, and will wield my mop proudly.
Happy editing! --Firsfron of Ronchester 23:43, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[edit] Relisting
I'm a non admin who closes AfD's. I noticed from time to time that some AfD's are relisted. I have yet to find a page on this, as I would like to contribute in this way so long as it allows non admins to do so. Got any info? (you can use my talk page if you prefer) SynergeticMaggot 01:43, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks from Yanksox!
Hey, Mailer, thanks for supporting my RfA, which registered a tally of 104/4/7. Which means...
- I am now an admin!!!
I was and still am very flattered by all the kind comments that I recieved, I will also take into account the comments about how I could improve. I guarantee I will try my best to further assist Wikipedia with the mop. Feel free to drop in and say hi or if you need anything. Again, thank you so much! Yanksox 04:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[edit] Delete 737 Orders article
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of Boeing 737 orders, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:List of Boeing 737 orders. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Request for Adminship
Thank you for contributing to my my request for adminship. Although I wasn't promoted to admin status, with a withdrawn vote count of 14/27/14, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. I was pleasantly suprised at the support, and was touched by it. I will also work harder on preventing disputes and keeping cool under stress. Hopefully I will re-apply soon and try again for the mop. Thanks again, Highway Return to Oz... 13:33, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[edit] A Severe Undeletion Request.
Dear Diablo,
Today I was shocked to log on to Wikipedia and find that the article on Bulahla has been deleted. As a University of Western Ontario student, who can attest to knowing players at the University of Toronto, MacMaster and McGill, I feel very upset that one of our favourite media sources will no longer be exhibiting an article on our beloved game.
I can agree, however, that there is a chance that a few liberties were taken with regards to the creation of the site, but after some investigation, I found that the majority of the facts stated are indeed true, and about real people, just playing a game they love.
Please reinstate this article as soon as possible, under the condition that it be cleaned up by the creators.
Thank you and regards. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.139.240.94 (talk • contribs) 17:33, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Jimmie Sylvester Article
Mailer diablo :
My office is new to the Wiki world. We opened an account for our client Model Jimmie Sylvester. I read comments that people stated for the deletion—a google search found 110 people who share the same name and that the article was vain. Several people in this world share the same name that shouldn't be a factor in it being deleted or how google list their pages. As far as the article, it is a bio on my client written by an editor at Random House. It was temporary article we placed on your site when we started the page to see how to use your site, as the tutorials are very confusing. We provided copyright information as requested. Our intent was to condense and replace that article with smaller informational format.
As Mr. Sylvester's publicist it is my job to find formats such as your site to promote him on or add him too. I read all the disclaimers for weeks about your site and was under the impression that it was a free site and we were able to upload things. I researched over 200 pages and found that most entertainers have more 'self promoting' ‘vanity filled’ information, bios and photos on theirs then what we put up for Mr. Sylvester. And it mentioned copyright violations, all copyrights were provided when requested.
Maybe many aren’t familiar with Mr. Sylvester but he is a very strong force in entertainment and modeling internationally. Mr. Sylvester is unaware that we were putting a Wiki article up for him so it shouldn’t reflect negativity on him. I would appreciate it if you could advise the people who nominated and support the removal to be privy to this letter I have provided you.
If you don’t see fit to reinstate the page or give suggestions on what we can put on there then that is your decision. It seems that no matter how many pages of rules we read there are always more that cancel out the rules we read. It is difficult to find a happy ground. Is it a donation that is needed to resolve things?
Thank you for your time.

[edit] RfA
Thank you for the request. I've filed out the RfA, and now I'm going in search to find out how to list it on the RfA page...or does someone else do it? I'm figuring it would be somewhat similar to listing an AfD. SynergeticMaggot 20:06, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm ok with it right now. Looking over a number of other RfA's, I cant say that mine was done the usual way, but oh well. I tried to clear up a number of false statments being spread all around, to no avail. Some took it as me arguing with opposers :/ SynergeticMaggot 18:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Also I was surprised that a bureaucrat hasnt closed it out yet. Its clear that there is no consensus (currently 31/31/ 5(?)). Maybe an extension? SynergeticMaggot 18:19, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] an AfD
Hey Mailer, I have a concern about an AfD I closed here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/One Piece Games. It was kind of a complex AfD, my first complex close. I was wondering if when you had the time, could you check to make sure I did everything ok? There were multiple articles involved. I removed all of the AfD tags I believe, and left a template on each of the discussion pages. Just want to make sure this was all done right. Thanks in advance. :) SynergeticMaggot 13:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi Mailer, I noticed that you closed the AfD discussion on LinkCentre yesterday, but the article appears to still be there. I didn't know what else to do other than let you know. Cheers! --Wine Guy Talk 20:28, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] liberal interpretation of AfD rules
Just to let you know that one of the AfDs you closed recently is mentioned in a discussion I started on the AfD talk page: Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion#Too liberal closure and deletion_during_AfD. Best regards, Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 09:21, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, apparently your closure did not really belong in the list as an example. But since you are quite active in AfD, I would appreciate your opinion on the matter in general, however. Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 09:40, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Odd use of a template, or not
On this edit of yours: the template might not have been the most appropriate (I'm too lazy to search for alternatives), but it was there for a very good reason: A long list of articles had to have AfD templates removed, and this was a nudge to do the job. -- Hoary 01:42, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My RfA
Thankyou for your participation in my RfA. Due to an almost even spread of votes between Oppose and Support (Final (16/13/6)) I have decided to withdraw for now and re-apply in a couple of months as suggested. I thank everyone for their kind support of my editorial skills; it meant a lot to me to get such strong recommendations from my fellow editors. If you ever have any hints as to how I can improve further, I would love to hear from you. ViridaeTalk 15:24, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[edit] Relisting AfD articles for more consensus

Hi M. Diablo,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.
Sincerely, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me)[edit] request for undeletion of article "Raincrowd"
hi. i'd like to request an undeletion of the article "Raincrowd".
according to WP:MUSIC: "Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast on a national radio network."
the band, "rAiNCrOwd", has performed 3 times in the Philippines' national radio network, NU107. i have a copy of 2 of the said 3 shows.
some of rAiNCrOwd's songs also have been bought in 1999 by EMI Philippines under the label Virgin, managed by Mr. Francis Guevarra, Jr. (e-mail: francis.guevarra@emimusic.com ; tel: 63-2-926-4614). one of the songs, "Pananagutan", have been included in one of the label's new artist's album - compiled together w/ songs from James Taylor and other notable artists. please re-consider the article for wikipedia's pages. thank you.

[edit] AfD on Disemvowelling
Just a query: you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Disemvoweling as "no consensus". By my count, there were 14 keeps and a week keep to 7 delete suggestions. I'd have thought "keep" was the consensus here, by quite a margin. What made you decide to put it down as no consensus? JulesH 17:24, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Offhand I'd say convincing a moderator would be the baseline for that like a judge. Otherwise the biggest mob rules. That was the tactic used on the article as I've said all along. Rulemakers may have other valid reasons and not all opinions are equal.Marky48 23:52, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD on Musa Cooper
I was surprised that this was closed as 'no concensus'. The overwhelming opinion was against keeping this as a separate article (either delete or merge). Importantly, no clear notability evidence was adduced. I wonder if you would relist for further discussion in an effort to gain concensus (preferable action) or ask another admin to review the decision, please? BlueValour 20:14, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Game AFD
Hi there, I just saw your closure of the recent The Game afd and wondered why you thought WP:V arguments for deletion were moot (with the reasoning that foreign language articles are acceptable). The arguments that the article failed WP:V and WP:RS were not generally based on the foreign source idea (the foreign language source argument didn't even cross my mind) but rather, raised a number of other issues such as the number of sources cited, whether the Morgen article was a trivial column piece (and so not subject to news fact-checking), that the article did not substantiate any claims about large numbers of people playing (calling the game only a "modest hype"), and the fact that the Game encourages players to plant items in the media (and that the Morgen journalist could be playing the game). I was just hoping that you would reconsider your "WP:V is moot in this case" judgement. Thanks for your consideration Bwithh 22:24, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] An AfD close
Hi there. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stephen Battaglia shows a pretty strong consensus not to have an article, to my eyes. 13d, 5m, 4k, balance of arguments are that the subject fails WP:BIO (only one single event verifiable in his life) and the event itself was not actually that remarkable, there being little evidence of ongoing coverage past the original reports. I am minded to re-nominate or WP:DRV but would like first to ask whether you saw something compelling which I missed. Thanks, Just zis Guy you know? 14:45, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
