Mailbox baseball is the act of using a baseball bat to knock over or smash roadside mailboxes by a passenger in a car. It can either be played as a game with score kept similar to baseball, or just done for fun. Either way, it is considered a form of vandalism. Occasionally, golf clubs have been used.

A countermeasure could be to set up a bait mailbox filled with concrete in front of the real mailbox.

In parts of The South during the 1960s, Mailbox baseball was used as both voter intimidation and voter suppression, in an attempt to prevent either blacks or Republicans from voting. [citation needed]

It is depicted in the movies Stand By Me, The Benchwarmers, Dazed and Confused (with a trash can), and briefly in an episode of Family Guy. It was also depicted in an episode of The Simpsons where Dr. Hibert and Dr. Nick were not available due to the fact that they were destroying mailboxes with a golf club.

In addition, U.S. law Title 18, Section 1705 probits the "destruction of letter boxes" and allows for up to three years of imprisonment for persons who do so.
