Mai Kobayashi

Mai Kobayashi is a fictional character from the Super Robot Wars series. She has appeared as a playable character in the Super Robot Wars Alpha series, and Super Robot Wars Original Generation series. In canon, she is one of the pilots for the SRX Altered Banpreios, and is joined by fellow pilots Ryusei Date, Raidis F. Branstein and sister Aya Kobayashi.

When she first appeared in Super Robots Wars Alpha, she was a warrior in the service of the Balmar Empire and went under the name "Levi Tolar". Eventually, she was freed of her mind-control and joined the Londo Bell forces against the Balmar Empire, piloting the R-Gun. She later appears in the final stages of Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden, again piloting the R-Gun in the final battle with Suu Shirakawa and the Granzon.

When she reappears in Alpha 3, she now goes by her original name, having recovered most of her memories. News of Aya's apparent death hits her hard, but she is instrumental in making Ryusei Date recover his fighting spirit.

Despite her youthful appearance, Mai is a rather mature young woman. Like her sister Aya, she is a powerful Psychodriver and equally able to provide the psychic energy to combine the R-Series Personal Troopers.

She also apparently has a crush on Ryuusei, which possibly stems from Alpha 1, when Ryusei was the one who rescued her and freed her from her thrall. When she first returns to the Tesla Research Labs, she immediately goes to see him and tries to cheer him up.
