[edit] Gym

Mahogany Town's Gym is run by Pryce, who specializes in ice Pokémon. This gym is only accessible after defeating Team Rocket in their underground hideout. Several trainers need to be fought and an ice puzzle needs to be solved before Pryce can be challenged.

[edit] Lake of Rage

Lake of Rage lies north of Mahogany Town past Route 43. A lake thought to be created by Gyarados, it houses a level 30 Red (Shiny) Gyarados.

After you defeat the Rocket Grunts, the Lake is a famous fishing spot home to bountiful Magikarp (and the occasional Gyarados, returned to normal color with the defeat of the Rockets). A man seeking the largest Magikarp will give you a prize depending on the size of the caught Magikarp.

Lake of Rage, however, has some coding behind it that unveils a town meant for the area northwest of the lake, but scrapped. The town also contains a Gym, as seen in the beta town.

[edit] Rocket Hideout

The Rocket hideout is located underneath a store that sells some strange items. In the video games, it features passwords and an alarm system. It also has traps in the floor that were left behind by the ninjas that used the hideout before Team Rocket occupied it.

In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, Lance, the current champion of the Pokémon League feels suspicious about this store, and along with the main character, breaks in and enters the Rocket hideout. In the final room that must be entered, there are six Electrodes powering a machine that emits radio waves to force Pokémon to evolve. Lance and the main character must each battle three of the Electrode in order to shut down the generator.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Lt. Surge finds the Rocket Hideout because he detected machines running under the store due to his sensitivity to electricity. There, he battles Mask of Ice and loses, but manages to escape.

[edit] Demographics

Mahogany Town's population is 14, making it the third smallest town in Johto. This is only because it is a very small town in area.
