Mahakali Zone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mahakali is one of the fourteen zones of Nepal. It stretches along Nepal's far western border with India, marked by the Mahakali River. In the very northern section of the border there has been a long lingering boundary dispute with India (Kalapani area). Mahakali's headquarters are in Amaragadhi (Dadeldhura). The largest city is Mahendranagar, the headquarter of Kanchanpur district. Mahakali hosts one of Nepal's former wildlife reserves, now a national park: Suklaphanta in Kanchanpur district in the Terai plain.
